natnuPreneur Farmer

We are committed to assisting farmers in thriving.

We put farmers, ideas, and resources together to deliver high-quality animal protein products via business models that help establish successful enterprises and communities.

Our scheme is an Amo Farms entrepreneurial initiative, where farmers raise broiler chicken for the company to process in an out-grower model. This initiative first began in 2014 and was officially launched in June of 2016. So far, over 5,000 farmers have signed up across the country. This program is supported by our completely integrated poultry value chain. It extends from the production and delivery of essential inputs (day-old chicks, feed, and medications), through the processing and sale of packaged products. This report focuses on the scheme’s four-year achievements.
Our farmers are guaranteed end-end support, all thanks to our fully integrated poultry operations. This efficiency means we have higher volumes of products and profits for you, our value chain member.

natnuPreneur has become a platform for smallholder farmers to secure loans.

Since 2016, the scheme has operated with farmers using different types of credit facilities. Bank of Industry (BOI), CBN Anchor Borrower (ABP), NIRSAL ABP, and Osun State Partnership with Commercial Bank(OBOPS), are some of the most often used finance sources.

Capacity building for our farmers and their employees is a major success factor for natnuPreneur. Since July 2016, over 2500 farmers have been trained through this scheme. We never stop teaching farmers and their employees how to achieve a much higher output in terms of lower mortality, shorter cycle length (the time it takes birds to mature), and higher feed conversion efficiency. As a result, their profit increases.
In Nigeria, the broiler “business” is historically a seasonal affair. natnuPreneur has created a year-round market for broiler farmers in the country, allowing them to produce 5-6 cycles per year. This is an extraordinary feat, as farmers can make between 60% and 72% on their investment per year.
Giving broiler farmers a hands-on Economics of Production (EOP) education made all the difference for natnuPreneur. Farmers no longer do business and make sales without accounting for the cost of production. They are taught the useful skill of Profit and Loss account documentation as a result of this natnuPreneur scheme. Cash flow statements are typically created for larger capacity farmers to identify their possible break-even point.
Many farms fail due to ineffective human resource management. Farm owners and managers in the natnudO program can attend training on this as well as how to properly manage their personnel in terms of remuneration and incentives. Farmers are taught various efficiency measures, which result in returns accessible to farmers at the end of each cycle on collected birds. Internal control methods are also included in the training to protect farmers from fraudulent operations. Because of our many tactics, the scheme has been able to keep hundreds of farms afloat.

natnuPreneur has provided free consultation on poultry farm setup to small-capacity farmers.
